The Menopause Canvas

AD/CW CAROL BENITO // AD/CW ANDREA PROENZA // AD LUA DELGAGO

Menopause is still something taboo and its absense from mainstream media causes a lack of awareness about this phase of life, which can be detrimental to women, trans-men and non-binary people of all ages.

So we created The Menopause Canvas - a campaign to generate awareness and break taboos around menopause through artistic expression, using feminine hygiene products as blank canvases. Each artwork tells the story of its owner, on how they experienced menopause.

*Disclaimer: This campaign was created for a student award show and was not published or endorsed by The Case4Her or Refinery29. It was however successful on social media and covered by several news outlets.

Women tell their experience of  menopause using feminine hygene products.

We invited everyone who's experienced menopause to participate by taking one or more feminine hygiene products they no longer use such as tampons, pads or menstrual cups, they are free to express what menopause meant to them through a drawing, painting, illustration, poem, collage etc. Once complete, they take a photo of their art and send it to us @menopausecanvas.
